Welcome to Edenbridge Primary School

A very warm welcome to Edenbridge Primary School.  We hope you will find lots of interesting information here to inform you about our school, the activities and the people within it.

What a cracker!

Festive fun was had by all at Edenbridge Primary School last Tuesday when the school hosted a family Christmas meal for pupils and members of their families.  Nourish, the caterers, provided a full cooked Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, free of charge for the pupils and their parents and in some cases, grandparents.

Thanks to the kind generosity of many local companies, staff donations and a contribution from EHAS (Edenbridge Holiday Activity Scheme), all the children received a special gift from Santa and families were entered into a raffle to win many exciting prizes including hampers, books, vouchers and other treats.

Clare Butcher, head teacher of Edenbridge Primary School, said, “It was a lovely way for all members of the school community to start off all the Christmas festivities this year.  We feel very proud to be able to host this exciting event for our pupils and their families.”

Christmas doors

We have made our very own advent calendor doors on our classrooms.  They are amazing.

Sevenoaks Girls' Football Tournament

On Thursday 8th November, Mr Holliday took seven of our year six girls to participate in a local girls' football tournament.  Spectators were impressed with the girls' performance and their team spirit.  Well done for making us feel proud girls!

Remembrance Day

Nest Remembrance display(1)

Thank you to children who attend The Nest for this lovely Remembrance display as part of our preparation for recognising the 100th anniversary of World War 1 which ended in 1918.

On Monday 5th November, all the Head Boys and Head Girls from seven of The Pioneer Academy schools gathered at South Norwood Primary School.  They each lay a wreath and led a reading as part of our remembrance activities.  There was a real sense of pride between them all and a lovely opportunity for the children to meet each other at such an important event.

The Edenbridge Bonfire Parade 3/11/18

On Saturday 3rd November we took part in the Edenbridge Bonfire Parade.  In recognition of the Royal British Legion's 100 years since the end of World War 1, the theme of Flanders Field and poppies was chosen.  A big thank you to Andrea Deans, Julie Yates, Paul Jones and Tina Lane and all the amazing parents who gave up so much of their own time to organise our entry.  As you can see from the photos, over 150 of us took part in our entry, proudly representing our school.  We were delighted to be awarded Best Junior Tableau, Best Music and congratulations to Andrea who deservedly won best individual costume.  It was an amazing event finished off by exciting fireworks in the rec.  Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us.

Cinema Club 01/11/18

Incredibles pic

On Thursday 1st November Years 1, 2 and 3 enjoyed an exciting evening watching the film Incredibles 2!  The children had great fun and the event was very well organised thanks to a group of dedicated parents.

Many thanks to the parents who gave up their time to support the event and we look forward to another movie night soon!

Cross Country Race Competition 31/10/18

On Wednesday 31st October, Edenbridge Primary School participated in a cross country competition against the other local schools.  It was a tough competition but they all did really well and supported each other with excellent team work.  You can see from the photos how determined they all were.  Well done children!
