Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn term. During this half term, we will be starting our nativity practice alongside our English, Maths and IPC lessons.

We change reading books every Monday and Friday. Monday’s the children choose a levelled book and on Friday’s they choose a levelled book along with a free reader book of their choice. In order to use our library-style system, we need children to bring back their signed Reading Record and the book they have read in order to exchange it for a new book. It is incredibly important that your child is reading regularly and discussing the text that they have read. Please ensure Reading Records are in school every day as the children are read with at school and will have this signed for in their books.

PE days - Please ensure your child has their PE kit ready when they have PE.

In our writing lessons we will be re-examining how to write a forml invitation and stories from other cultures as well as learning how to write a recount based on a personal experience.

Maths

This half term we will learning how to multiply and divide using our knolwdge of the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. We will then be exploring how to measure length, height, mass, capacity and temperature in a variety of units.

IPC

In Live and Let Live, we will be learning about living things and what they need in order to survive. How do we know what living things need? How do you know that you are alive, but a stone has never been alive? To find out the answers to these questions, we will need to be scientists, geographers and ecologists.

PSHE

In Science and PSHE, we will be thinking about our brain and how it helps us to learn. We will explore the best ways for us to learn and how to prepare for big challenges. We will also think about how to record our learning and how we’re getting on.
