Aim Higher
An individual primary programme for children in year 6, places a PhD student into a school to deliver a university-style module to two groups of no more than six pupils. Each programme includes a launch trip held at a leading university, a series of five weekly tutorials that lead to the completion of an extended assignment, and a graduation trip at a different university, where marked assignments are returned to pupils and feedback given.
Another programme run in year 6 is in conjunction with a local University where children have a tour of the campus, visit a lecture theatre and seminar rooms and meet current students. Following up from this visit they complete an extended piece of writing on their own future and aspirations which are returned to pupils and feedback is given.
