Summer 2 - Week 1 - Multicultural Week

Multicultural dressing up Day

At the end of our special multicultural week we all dressed up as animals from different countries, or in the colours of a flag or national costumes. Reception and Year 2 entertained us with native songs from Kenya and Year 1 told us all about Australian animals. Class Klee also had a pretend flight from London Gatwick to Jomo Kenyatta (international City Airport in Nairobi, Kenya). It was a wonderful end to an exciting, informative and diverse / cultural week!

Multi-cultural week at Chatsworth.

On Tuesday 6th June, the children enjoyed a professional dance workshop with each year group performing dances from around the world. We shared and celebrated our learning in a Whole School Collective Worship at the end of the school day.

RNLI Charity

Once again this year, we supported the Lifeboat crews, who save thousands of lives every year.

We flew the RNLI flag throughout May and together we raised just over £75 for 'Mayday', so thank you everyone!

Just before half term, a representative (Terry Smith) gave us a presentation, showing live footage of rescuces and the equipment that they use. Miss Lewis even dressed up as a lifeguard, to the delight of all!

Year 6 from Burnt Oak had joined us for the morning and participated in this event.

Throughout the month of May, the whole school have been learning the art of Maypole dancing, which is a traditional folk dance.

Dance, dance round and round, let your feet skip over the ground.

Summer 1 - Year 2 have been busy with their Home Learning.

Year 2 have been working so hard to improve their writing. They have written amazing pieces of work based upon the Great Fire of London. These include: Diary entry, Newspaper report and descriptive writing using figurative language (personification, alliteration, similes, metaphors and expanded noun phrases).

Our Daffodils !

Thank you to everyone who brought their daffodils in to School this week. They looked beautiful. The judge from The London Children's Flower Society, said how impressed he was with how well the children had cared for their bulbs.
